SBFC 2025 Recap: When Kindness & Team Spirit Take the Field

The tournament gathered 32 teams for a day of competition, teamwork, and community.

From the opening whistle to the final match, the atmosphere was full of energy — players encouraging one another, families cheering from the sidelines, and volunteers ensuring everything ran smoothly.

Each moment on the field reflected the event’s true purpose: uniting people through action and kindness.

What began 6 years ago as a charity event supporting children with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) has now expanded its mission.

This year, the SBFC supported 9 charitable organizations working in the areas of health, education, and inclusion — helping children with heart disease, autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy, providing schooling and learning opportunities to underprivileged youth.

The Shanghai Butterfly Football Cup was inspired by Zhou Mi, a young girl whose courage and optimism continue to motivate everyone involved. Her story reminds us that even small actions — like joining a match, making a donation, or showing up to support — can create a lasting impact.

Thanks to years of collective effort, the Butterfly Cup community has already helped establish 15 permanent hospital beds and a specialized medical team at Fudan Children’s Hospital.

This lasting achievement shows how teamwork on and off the field can truly make a difference.
